[ CHEMINS DE FER RURAUX DE FRANCE ] Association formed in 1997 to encourage use of the railway line from Avallon to Autun and Etang-sur-Arroux. The continued existence of the line, the improvement to scheduled passenger services since that date is certainly due to the effective lobbying efforts of T.R.A.M. The association has started to organise special trains for photographers on picturesque routes around France. A useful site to visit and re-visit.A lobbying association similar to T.R.A.M for the lines in the Morvan from Auxerre south to Clamecy and Corbigny. The web site contains useful historical information about the development of the lines in the Nievre and the Yonne.An extensive site developed by a retired 'cheminot" devoted, in part, to historical research of the closed rural lines of Bourgogne. Web site for news about and documentary catalogue(facts and photos) of the railway scene in the Massif Central. A well organised and informative site about trains and railways in the Lyon area. A useful feature is a series of pages identifying good places to take photos from, with detailed instructions, maps and examples. This web site is devoted to photo archives of preserved steam in France proposed by D Michel Costes. I especially recommend this site by Pascal Desmichel for its search for the soul of the rural and historical rail scene, and also for the very beautiful photography and poetic portraits in images and text, of remote parts of southern France.
