Photo Gallery of rural railways in northern France

April 2004.  This charter train on the Chemin de fer de la Baie de Somme was organised by Michael for the SNCF Society.  The 2-6-0T Cail and its train is spotted through the trees and blossom of a spring afternoon.
The station at Lumbres, in the valley of the Aa, Nord Pas de Calais.  This is an engaging heritage operation on part of the line from Boulogne to St Omer, first opened in 1874.
Picasso railcar X 3853 waits to depart for Arques, where the depot of the association is to be found.
Calais - Dunkerque, a secret line on which few passenger trains run.  Here at Bourbourg an EAD railcar pauses with a TER service to Dunkerque.
Thanks to Michael for these pictures and more to come.
