Just north of Chagny, Saône et Loire, a triangular junction gives access to rail routes to the west towards Nevers and Moulins.  A double track railway passes the vineyards of Santenay and along the valley of the Dheune river and the Canal du Centre.
At Montchanin the line to Nevers branches off to the north through Le Creusot.  After the smart town of Montceau-les-Mines the railway accompanies the Canal du Centre across pleasant agricultural plains to the junction at Paray-le-Monial.
This line is a strategic route linking the ex PLM main line to the Paris - Clermont-Ferrand main line.
TER services along this line include Clermont-Ferrand - Dijon and Lyon - Paray - Chalons sur Saône.
Santenay station, modified to accomodate the local tourist office.
The Clermont-Ferrand to Dijon-Ville TER service at Montchanin, S&L.
Blanzy, the original station, unfortunately closed to the public, though open for security.
An EAD speeds past Blanzy halt, which replaces the old station.
Montceau-les-Mines, bright and cheerful, is by no means as industrial as its name might imply.  On the contrary, a smart town centre in which the station is conveniently sited.
The most attractive country station on the line, without question, Genelard.
Two EAD's crossing at Genelard in July 2005.
